There is no honest single number. A complete beginner typically needs a decent run of lessons to reach test standard; someone already practising in a manual with a parent may need only a few. What matters is that you are told the truth about where you stand, which is what happens after your first lesson.

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. If you have never touched a clutch, we start in a quiet street at walking pace. Most people are moving off smoothly before the first hour is over.

For roughly the first three lessons, yes. After that the difference disappears, because clutch control becomes a physical habit rather than something you consciously think about. The advantage is permanent: a manual licence has no restrictions, so you can legally drive any car.

One full hour of driving. Travel to and from your pick-up point is not deducted from your hour.

This is one of the most common reasons people call. We go back to whichever skill actually came apart, rebuild it properly, and work forward from there. A failed test is a data point, not a verdict.

Usually much less time than beginners need. You already read traffic, judge gaps and handle the steering – you are only adding the left foot and the gear lever. Many automatic drivers are comfortable within a handful of lessons.
