The story

Why manual only

Over more than two decades of teaching, one pattern kept repeating. Students would arrive having had a few lessons elsewhere, convinced they were simply not built for manual. Almost every time, the problem was not the student. It was that nobody had broken the clutch down into something learnable.

So Naz stopped teaching automatic altogether. Every lesson, every day, is manual. That focus means the teaching sequence has been refined thousands of times over – which stage to introduce hill starts, how long to spend in a car park before hitting real roads, exactly what to say to someone who has just stalled at a busy intersection and gone bright red.

The result is students who do not merely scrape through the test. They drive manual comfortably for the rest of their lives.
